COVID – 19 Referral Service

As the government eases restrictions by advising individuals to return to work where they can, many employees are being asked to return to the physical working environment. Many of these individuals may have underlying health conditions and may be fearful of what a return to work may look like and how this may affect their health. We have developed a specific COVID-19 referral service to address any of these concerns and provide reassurance and support to those individuals with specific COVID-19 related concerns.

Our nurses will complete an in depth assessment to ascertain fitness for work. This is determined by the outcome of the COVID-19 related risk assessment which will highlight any areas of increased risk for the employee. A robust report will be provided to both the employer and employee outlining any areas of concern, recommendation, and any suggested adaptations.

Who is this service for?

• Any employees who are currently absent as a result of COVID-19 either due to underlying health conditions or who have a confirmed COVID-19 diagnosis

• Any employees who are currently absent in relation to mental health conditions as a direct result of COVID-19 and lockdown

• Anyone who has been advised to shield

• Employees who are absent due to a vulnerable family member

What will be provided?

• A 60-minute assessment with one of our qualified nurses to discuss medical history and any COVID-19 specific concerns

• A detailed risk assessment will be completed to identify the individuals’ risk in relation to COVID-19 which will be fully discussed with the individual

• An in depth discussion about their role and adjustments that can be implemented to assist with their return to work

• Support and reassurance will be provided to the employee

• Details of online support that can be provided for those who are fearful of retuning to work

• A detailed clinical report will be provided that outlines the employees’ risks and any medical vulnerability to COVID-19

COVID-19 – COVID Secure

Make your workplace COVID-secure, the HSE has issued the following advice:

“If through your risk assessment you have identified people who cannot work from home (for example people who operate machinery or work on a construction site), then you should consider what changes you might need in your workplace to reduce risk and make it ‘COVID-secure’”.

At JRL we have access to health and safety consultants who will support you to become COVID secure. Our nurses are also experts in public health and can work alongside your existing health and safety consultants to enable a successful and safe return to the physical working environment.

Testing

PCR swab test for COVID-19 antigen

This is the test currently used by the NHS to check for the presence of the COVID-19 virus antigen in a sample taken from the nose or throat. The PCR test can tell if you are currently positive for COVID19 as this may mean you could be infectious to others even if you are asymptomatic which means that you have no symptoms.

This test can be performed from one of our clinics or from your business premises, costs are reduced for larger numbers of workers.
